Kanye West Ruins Taylor Swift’s VMA Win – Obama Calls him a ‘Jackass’
The VMA 2009 was worth watching this time round… Besides the usual memorized speech and accepting of awards, this VMA was quite different. Thanks to Kanye West or should was it Taylor Swift? West does have a problem keeping his big “ego” in check when he lost his cool at the awards. He walked up to Taylor Swift who was making her acceptance speech after being awarded Best Female Video, snatched the microphone and blabbered that Beyonce deserved the award because she had one of the best music videos of all time.
Hilariously, the cameras turned to Beyonce, who was seated in the audience with her mouth opened shocked at Kanye’s statement. Phew…! What was he thinking? Kanye handed back the microphone to Taylor and walked down the stage as the audience booed him. Taylor tried to continue her speech but her microphone was cut off. So terrible for her… However, the camera awkwardly cut to Tracy Morgan and Eminem while Taylor was escorted off the stage.
President Obama had also expressed his shock and called Kanye West a “Jackass” while talking to ABC News. An ABC News employee tweeted the remark made by the President but was asked to remove it since it was an off-the-record portion of the interview with the US President.
