Casino was a crime drama film directed by the eminent Martin Scorsese that starred Robert De Niro (Ace Rothstein), Joe Pesci (Nicky Santoro) and Sharon Stone (Ginger).
Stone was gorgeous in the movie giving it her best and did you know she had dieted very hard for her role in the Casino movie, which nearly killed her? The actress was reported to have starved herself to death before the filming of Casino desperate to impress the most talented director of all times, Martin Scorsese. Even though she was looking “skinny and out of it”, it paid off when she was awarded the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globe Awards for her role in Casino.
As stated by the actress herself, she accepted of nearly physically killing herself on a very threatening diet while shooting the movie. Stone pulled off “drug overdosed” death scene in the movie that led to her Golden Globe and Academy Awards for the role.
The actress claims to have eaten absolutely nothing for the final week of filming and her main aim was to look like a complete wreck, lose as much weight as she could and become completely skinny.
Stone is currently starring in a new film “Streets of Blood” that co-stars Val Kilmer, 50 Cent and Michael Biehn. The movie is directed by Charles Winkler and the film is centered on two cops who are busy dealing with the unruly behavior of New Orleans and the post-Katrina environment.
