The Kings Speech Oscars Betting
The Oscar Academy Awards was hosted in Los Angeles last month. The online betting on Oscar winners made some gamblers a lot of money. I made some money, did you? The online sportsbooks sites were as busy as the red carpet. The Oscars is one of the largest betting events on a single day. So who did I bet on that made me money? The Kings Speech was a popular choice for many gamblers. The movie made me lots of money because I made bets on it winning the best movie, the best director, the best actor (Colin Firth) and the best origional screenplay.
The Kings Speech is a wonderful movie and it was nominated for 12 Oscars. Apart from this film some of the other films that were in the betting race include The Social Network, The Black Swan and The Fighter. The odds for the Oscars were based on the winners of the Golden Globe. Since The Social Network film won a few Golden Globe awards it attract more bets than other movies.
The best actor nominations included Colin Firth who is believed to have gained more bets on him. I made a bet on him to win and thank goodness he did! When it comes to the Best Actress, Natalie Portman was favored to win and she did. She was brilliant in the Black Swan, although the movie was quite hectic. She competed with Annette Bening who starred in the movie The Kids Are All Right along with Jennifer Lawrence of Winters Bone.
